Anson Cyr
My work is quick. Quick in its marks, quick in its method, quick in its legibility. The pace is set by my own mental mania and matched by the industrial materials I explore. It is within this immediacy that I have found a language for loss. The concerns I am most interested in addressing in my studio at this time are the challenges of translation, the weight of empty nostalgia, and the violence of not knowing what has really been stolen from us.
B.B. PRESS
Started in 2016 in San Francisco, California, B.B. Press (originally Burnt Bra Press) was created as a way to keep hands busy and share the photos I had been shooting. Inspired by a love of toner and growing up with a father who was a Xerox technician, the press quickly gained momentum.
By the fourth release, B.B.P began collaborating with other artists and releasing zines together. This collaborative spirit has been the driving force behind our continued success in creating zines.
